I just updated my website. All the artworks I created in Dordrecht this year are finally online!

Here some pictures of my newest artwork "the Movies" taken during the opening night. The LED lights are programmed and show a different light composition every 3 minutes. 

On Saturday the 31th of August DordtYart gives special attention to the Mondriaan Foundation that financially supports DordtYart for five commissions. During performances, artists explain their new work built in DordtYart. Cornel Bierens will give a reading about his essay ‘the by hand sawn soul’, which he wrote for the Mondriaan Foundation. His essay is about how craft and craftsmanship returns in the temporary art world. By using the art theory he researches the relation between the technical and theoretical aspect of the artist job.

The talk will be held in Dutch.

My new artwork will be installed on August 27th. The sculptures are created for the new cinema The Movies at Dordrecht, the Netherlands. 


The official opening will be on September the 2nd. 



Op dinsdag 27 augustus, ongeveer een week voor de officiële opening van het  nieuwe filmhuis in Nieuwstraat 60-62, wordt om 12.00 uur  het kunstwerk van Peter Vink geplaatst. Een spannend moment, want het werk wordt op zijn plek gehesen door middel van een kraan. Het werk bestaat uit drie sculpturen die op duidelijk ingekaderde plekken zijn geïntegreerd in het gebouw. Eén object zal te zien zijn in de Nieuwstraat en de twee andere aan de achterzijde van het filmhuis in de Kloostertuin. 

Het Dordrechts Museum is opdrachtgever voor dit kunstwerk dat in nauwe samenwerking met de architecten van het gebouw, Abrahamse De Kock Architecten, tot stand is gekomen.

Voor Peter Vink was de bestaande architectuur in de omgeving van het filmhuis het uitgangspunt. Hij constateerde dat de gebouwen in de oude binnenstad zich in lagen manifesteert. Bijna zoals in een filmdecor of in een traditioneel coulisselandschap van een theaterdecor. Deze ruimtelijke kwaliteit besloot hij te verwerken in drie sculpturen van corten-staal die elk één basisvorm hebben: een vierkant, een driehoek en een cirkel. Het licht dat daarin verwerkt is gaat een subtiel schaduwspel geven. ’s Avonds zal ongeveer iedere minuut een nieuwe compositie te zien zijn.

DORDTYART 2013 OPENS

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of April DordtYart opens the doors for a new season. With discount on the entrance ticket this weekend you can enjoy special performances, demonstrationsand some public conversations with artists. The program starts on 11:00 on these days.

The title of this year’s exhibition is DordtYart 2013. Our choice of the artists and art is like last year focused on technical art and science, ergo to make and do. The Hall is the space the artists will work in. We have chosen for installation art, architectional objects, experimental art with light, sound devices and installations that have the human perception as subject.

Peter Vink is going to make a kinetic installation in the ridge of the roof, with blades that are powered independently by electric motors.  Staalplaat will enable the visitors to put in motion household goods via their mobiles / cellphones. 

Pieterjan Ginckels shows a cabine made of old doors and refers in his work to inaccessibility. Dré Wapenaar will install his Houthakkerspaviljoen and is going to build a Klankbodempaviljoen with room for two pianos.

Observatorium is going to build a bridge, in coöperation with young people from DordtMij, that will be shipped to Oberhausen later in the year. Moreover it will be part of the outdoor exhibition in 2014 and 2015 at DordtYart. 
Marije Vogelzang has food as subject of her art and will show a Paste-Sauna tower. 

Elodie Hiryczuk & Sjoerd van Oevelen will explore the reproduction of reality. They show a picture installation in which you as visitor will experience a feeling of anxiety opposite to reality.  Ronald van der Meijs works as craftsman on objects in which nature and technique will come together. In the hall he will show a tunnel of plastic bags that breathe. 

Roland Schimmel is the first painter in DordtYart. By exploring perception and imitating reality perception. He is an access to the performing art in DordtYart. 
Leonard van Munster is fascinated by the unreachable. He will use all kinds of materials (secondhand or found). He will show his “Dancing White Men” and “Green House”.
